Help with .MKV files

Need to get a film in this format converted and stuck on a dvd and i dont have a clue.

Help anyone?

One question mate having had a quick read, it says it converts to a format a ps3 can read, will a normal run of the mill dvd read the same format?

ps. Not being a lazy twat on this and spent a few hours last night downloading various programs but no success.

Last attempt had me using VLC player to convert to a mp4 file or so i thought but it took an age and i ended up with a .ps file???

edit, just seen a few threads with input and will also try them, cheers.

Rip with anydvd then encode to .mkv with mediacoder.

Are you ripping to disc for yourself to watch?

Oh mkv to dvd, just use convertxtodvd on 2pass.
