Even funnier. This is from Aon's own website:
Aon’s fast-paced growth began in 1982 when Ryan Insurance Group merged with Combined International Corporation. In 1987, that company was introduced to Wall Street as Aon, a Gaelic word meaning “Oneness.”

So Aon is actually the Gaelic equivalent of Etihad.

Hahaha brilliant! That's even better!

But if Etihad means united then they will say we both have United on our shirts. I'd stick with saying AON means Great City

Some of you may know, that AON actually translates to "Great City" in Mandarin! Which I think is appropriate seeing as half of their fan base comes from there! So next time a Rag tries to taunt you with "Etihad means United" Just give 'em that one back!

Sorry fella but that is absolute bollocks! There is no such word in the chinese language and furthermore that waiter from the chinese buffet in town more than likely speaks Cantonese.

The only translation of aon in any language is probably 'dog' in Taino, used by some peoples in the caribbean.

Why do some people spout utter bollocks and worse still why do others actually believe them?!

Seriously, I have to know now, are United sponsored by a pack of mangy dogs who live in the mound of porn outside Dwight Yorke's home in Tobago?

Seriously, Taino people were originally found in some caribbean islands but have become extinct. They were more likely found in The Antilles than Tobago though. The language is all but dead now too but aon is definitely Taino for dog.

I dont give a f&&k if they want to think our stadium is the united stadium, were owned by the Abu Dhabi United Group.

I dont think these illiterate rags know this, but if this is the best they have then we'll be laughing all the way to victory.

You're not even in the premier league X

You're going to get relegated X

You'll never attract the best players in the world X

You're not in the champs league- Europa is a joke X

You'll never win a trophy X

You'll be fucked by the Fair play X

Your stadium names almost translates as United- that will do....
