Heroes, Villains, and Legends

Salford \Blue 62 wonders about Robert Hopkins. He only has to read Paul Lake's autobiography. Lakey says he got on with most colleagues but certainly not with Hopkins.
Hopkins was apparently a truly nasty piece of work who treated people like shit, especially the younger players who were in no position to retaliate.
The playing staff as a whole rejoiced when he left the club.
He really was a loathsome object and a real member of the villains' club

For me the first hero was David Wagstaffe.

When I was young we spent Christmas with my grandparents in Shropshire. I would usually get the bus from Oakengates to Molineux if Wolves were at home on Boxing Day.

Imagine my horror to arrive at the stadium and find Wagstaffe being introduced as their new signing. He turned out to be a legend for Wolves.

I wonder what the 1967-68 side would have been like with Wagstaffe in for Coleman?
