City are no longer the richest club in the world, we simply have the richest owners. Since we now have to work within the FFPS we are only as rich as our business on and off the pitch. So any player joining now must be joining for footballing reasons.

I must say I'm struck by how few non-City fans seem as concerned about 'the arab getting bored' as they once were on our behalf.

They've moved on from that as we've progressed up the league. Oppo fans are forever changing their opinion of us:

When the takeover happened it was "You won't attract any big name players, and your owner will fuck off when he realises how shit City are"

When we started signing big name players it was "They've only gone for the money because City will win nowt and won't get a CL spot. Oh, and your owner will fuck off when he gets bored"

When we bagged a CL spot and won the FA Cup it was "That's what £500 million buys you - one poxy trophy."

When the Etihad sponsorship deal was announced it was "That's blatant cheating. FFS UEFA, get these cunts kicked out of Europe!"

And when we don't get kicked out of Europe and the full scale of the redevelopment plans are announced it'll be "Boohoo! That's not fair. I'm giving up on football forever!"

By the way, 2 things that haven't changed all along this process are that we're "ruining football" and we've got "no history".
