Wrong.
It just so happens that Rooney has had a great year and that has coincided with Rooney playing up front with Heskey, whereas previously when he's played on his own or with another striker he's not been in as good form at club level and so hasn't performed as well internationally. We don't need Heskey to partner Rooney to get the best out of Rooney, we just need the 2009/10 Rooney, not the 2008/09, 2007/08, 2006/07, ....... Rooney. We're guaranteed to have this Rooney since it's 2010, so there's no need for Heskey:

Johnson ------------------------------------------------------------ Cole

Lennon ------------------------------------------------------------- Cole

It doesn't matter. We still look a much better team with Heskey upfront. I can't work it out either, but we do. Football has changed so much. When you have two 20 goal a season midfielders in your team and a 30 goal a season striker, it doesn't really matter that the other forward doesn't score many. His link up play at International level is very good and he's very strong.ancoats said:kenzie115 said:Many people will tell you that Rooney does better with Heskey in the side than on his own or with Defoe or Crouch. 2nd that team matey
and with rooney now adding the heading power from last season
why play heskey or anybody with rooney play the 5 midfield
even play barry on the left and j.cole in the hole
when the big boys spain france germany play us they play 5 midfield
and use there best players to hurt other teams
we will have the best midfield in the world cup if we play all 5
and somebody will score than rooney from midfield

hahahahahaahhaha
have you seen the last warm up game a free header from 6yards out and puts it 5 yards past the post
you may say it was a warm up game
but it was v a bunch of none league players in our leagues
Well actually you are the one who is wrong and you have made it patently clear you dont know what your talking about! Rooney's record for England in 2009/2010 has been poor in fact his worst he has only scored 1 goal, his best season was 2008/2009.kenzie115 said:Many people will tell you that Rooney does better with Heskey in the side than on his own or with Defoe or Crouch. How can your point still stand if the fact you list are completely wrong? Oh and Heskey and Rooney haven't played together at all in 2010. So again your point is a wrong. So even though As you say Rooney is in the form of his life, when Heskey has not been next to him he has not delivered for England.kenzie115 said:bluesmith said:Well actually you are the one who is wrong and you have made it patently clear you dont know what your talking about! Well he's played with Heskey in 2009/10 so the point still stands.
