Your 35 miles away from the Greatest music and football City in the world, to the rest of the world it's Manchester, near Liverpool.
It is "you're"
Liverpool, musically, is a one trick pony. Take away The Beatles and the city musically is on par with Coventry. Once scene defining the city forever. And don't forget, The Beatles loved your "greatest city" so much, they couldn't wait to fuck off out of there - see also Cilla and Tarby, another duo of professional Scousers....

Meanwhile, Manchester has musically evolved and influenced the music world with different scenes over the past 45 years. How many Liverpool bands over the summer have played in front of packed stadiums and 80,000 in a park x 5 nights? (and yes I know the Gallaghers fucked off to London before you say it, but did New Order? Buzzcocks? Stone Roses? The Smiths? Morrissey did for a few months but came back), Happy Mondays? And more....

Anyway, goodbye, you're (correct spelling) banned!

Hey Jude is to City as Blue Moon is to City [stolen from Crewe?]. Christ, we'll rip any old song off and call it our own.
This ^

I will remember singing Hey Jude on the Kippax in the late 60s when it was in the charts and City were fucking awesome .

The Beatles were never football fans, they didn't support Liverpool, I remember McCartney saying when asked about football he said his family supported Everton but he wasn't really interested in football...so never saw any conflicts.

Yes, he went to the Everton / Wednesday cup final in 1966

Christ how did you know that :)....was it a question on eggheads?
Every intelligent individual knows that...... ;)
See the 3rd paragraph

The 1966 FA Cup final was a football match played on 14 May 1966. It was contested by Everton and Sheffield Wednesday at Wembley. Everton were the first team since Bury in 1903 to reach an FA Cup Final without conceding a goal, while Sheffield Wednesday reached the final having played every round away.[1]

Everton came back from 2–0 down to win 3–2 with goals by Mike Trebilcock (2) and Derek Temple. Jim McCalliog and David Ford scored the Owls' goals. Temple's winner came after an unfortunate slip by Gerry Young, when the ball squirmed under his foot, and Temple was able to run clear and slot the ball past goalkeeper Ron Springett into the corner. Everton became only the second side, after Blackpool in 1953, to come from two goals behind to win the cup without needing extra time, a feat which has not been repeated since.

John Lennon and Paul McCartney of The Beatles attended the match. Everton fan Eddie Cavanagh invaded the playing area and was pursued across the pitch by a policeman.[2]

Weren't The Bee Gees from Manchester?
No, born Ilse of Man then moved to Chorlton Manchester for 6 years, then emigrated to Australia where they lived for 10 years before moving to London.

What was interesting was that as a group after growing up they decided that London was the place to be if you want to make it so they got a ship back to England, after the five week voyage and arriving in England they found out that they had reached number one in Australia but nobody in England had ever heard of them, so they wondered if they had made a big mistake.
