In light of current events, perhaps the most shockingly underreported, under investigated, under consequenced action is the writing off of £54m on the Stanley park stadium allowing them to NOT break FFP rules.
£54m … to symbolically move a clod of earth.
How an earth can £54m be spent on just the design stage of a stadium?
Where are/were the headlines about dubious accounting, false accounting, fabrication of intentions… and at minimum, management questions about how a project that got only as far as a design stage, cost £54m.

Maybe Stanley park is just covered in carpet, it certainly needs to have been to sweep £54m under it.
