My Dad is a rag and has a season ticket at the Swamp.

You could not wish to meet a nicer bloke and he talks nothing but common sense about football.

Haven't lived with him for several years, but did so until I was about 21. Can't ever recall him taking the piss out of City and he used to take me to Maine Rd all the time.

I consider him the exception that proves the rule as most rags are twats.

Tell me to sod off if I'm being too nosey, but how the hell did you see the light if your dad is such a nice guy and supports that lot?

Hi Vienna_70

Apologies for this late reply (not sure if you'll ever read it). I wasn't in the office on Friday.

According to my Dad, I cheered for a team in blue that were playing at Old Trafford. I think he saw the opportunity to be out of the house at football every Saturday and thus encouraged me to support City. One week my older brothers and I would go to watch United, the next week we'd go to City.

He does hate Liverpool though, so I think his "peace and good will to all men" act might have gone out of the window if I'd tried to support them.

We don't wind each other about City/United and that works fine for me.

I don't know if he thought I'd swap to United at some point.

I can't say I've inherited his casual attitude to such things. My own son (who's 2) will have no choices about where he goes to watch football.

The bloke next door but one....bastard. If we've lost, as soon as we go out to the car you hear his front door open and he runs to the top of the path, just standing there grinning like a diabetic walrus. Hes schizophrenic though, and so is he, and him....in his 40s and lives with his mum and dad, quite unfortunate for him.

However, I have recently filmed footage of him pissed up in his back garden at about half 4 in the afternoon, singing Elvis. He tried giving me stick over the draw with Sunderland, and i've told him if he does it again, his antics are going viral.

You should knickname him Hyacinth.
