Have you heard of the DMP-A6? It sounds brilliant and has all high end parts, and a screen with album art/VU metres and graphic eq. It's a bargain. The software is excellent tooGoing to upgrade to a Bluesound Icon. Looked at the Cambridge Audio but the BluOS made me go to the Icon as opposed to the Cambridge Audio.
Off to Audio T next week to listen to the Bluesound Icon and a set of Splendor A7s.
Oh, just had a look and that's a very nice piece of kit and a good screen as well. Just had a look and it supports Amazon Music (the main reason I'm off the Cambridge Audio as you have to go through Chromecast for Amazon Music). Yeah. I use it with tidal. It also has an m.2 drive on the bottom if you want to put your own cds on (it burns albums with a separate cd drive)Oh, just had a look and that's a very nice piece of kit and a good screen as well. I'll find out if any of the hifi shops in town have one I can listen to. Need to find a repair guy as well as the right channel on my old amp went a while back. Might be the valve, but I don't want to piss about with it. It's a Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista M3. Nice bit of kit and I'd only fuck it up if I opened it up and started messing around inside it.Yeah. Looks a nice amp that. Have a kt88 tube amp myself.I'll find out if any of the hifi shops in town have one I can listen to. Oh, that's a nice looking bit of kit. I was wondering about just changing the tube. Mind you, if someone starts talking silly money to look at it I'll just end up doing that anyway. Had it serviced/upgraded a couple of years back so I'm not forking out again.Looks a nice amp that. Have a kt88 tube amp myself.
Edit: get a schematic of the layout. Could be as easy as changing the tube out.
It’s been years since I’ve been into hifis, but do they not have some equivalent of Android TV where you can just download the apps you want to use? Or do they all insist on having their own operating system? I rented a flat this year with a TV where you genuinely can’t download Netflix. It has its own shit OS and you have a choice of about 20 available apps. If it’s not on there, tough shit.Going to upgrade to a Bluesound Icon. Yes. A lot of them have their own apps which will support most of the stuff out there like Spotify, Qobuz, Tidal etc. I have a Bluesound Node at the minute and it's app is quite good and supports Amazon Music, but the Cambridge Audio doesn't, but you can get it on using Chromecast - but I can't be arsed with the pissing around. I'm a vinyl and CD guy and came to streaming late - but my life it is good when you get the higher resolution stuff. It’s been years since I’ve been into hifis, but do they not have some equivalent of Android TV where you can just download the apps you want to use? Buy an Amazon fire stick.
