i was thinking about this before there were loads of players that were the 'next pele' or whatever who just never fulfilled their potential.

the obvious one is franny jeffers, possibly wengers biggest eff up tbh

theres a few city ones as well; BWP was going to be an England regular, i seem to remember terry dunfield was hyped for a while as well
