Hijacking our plans

Given the money side of thing and some club feeling the pinch there could well be one or two bigger names available

we were alway going to be fighting a lossing battle with some of the big clubs but the like AC milan and Valencia are going to be selling the likes of Kaka, Villa and Silva but the money they get will not be spent on simular types of players it will go to pay of loans or buy several other players to help out the squad in general.

As a result of that we'll have a chance of getting some world class players but we may struggle with a superstar names as there arn't many of those.

depending on other moves we'll have a chance of getting some top class players that will improve the squad no end

Madrid can't buy them all, chelsea may now go for one or two but the've not got a limitless budget and if these clubs are buying who are they going to sell.

No club will want a massive increase in wages but we are one of a few club that can afford it if the right player was suddenly for sale.

This was always going to be the case, the Spanish and Italian clubsalways rotate the managers round at the end of every season the teams in CL have a distinct advantage over us and if they are backed with large sums of money they may well cherry pick the best players however I am certain that there are enough good players out there who

a) Want to come to city
b) Will improve our current squad
c) Will fill the gaps and weaknesses in our team.

right on the money with that.

plus - the only position i feel we need a really big name is in a striker (obviously), where as when it comes to defence, the likes of hangeland would certainly be a much needed boost in the area, rather than say chiellini

so by the way things are running i thinking we are going to be looking bring in tevez (big chance by the looks of things) and a big name striker. other than that i am completely happy to see some lower grade players fill the other positions needed.

fuckinell mate how long before taylorwill pulls you up on that

I totally disagree, we were never going to be competing with clubs like these. In fact if they sign big players and we agree not to compete to push price up then we have a good chance to pick up the likes of van der vaart, huntelaar, drogba who would significantly improve us.

So stop stressing!

Why am i not surprised this is coming from an agent, if an agent told me today was Monday id have to go and get a calendar.

While im sure Perez will sign one maybe two big names. i dont think he is anywhere near as rich as alot of these people are thinking they are unless he manages to do another shady deal with the spanish government. Besides their transfer policy is akin to newcastle under kevin keegan of we will just score more than you all these players mentioned are a great idea but their defence is a joke and thats where strengthening is needed but he wont spend money on defensive players so with the best will in the world, they can go ahead and spend, spend, spend but without strenghtening where it is needed they are just going to finish 2nd again!

We beat Chelsea when we got Robinho and we had a deal accepted from AC Milan for thir best and most popular player Kaka. So yes we can compete.

In my opinion we'd have been in for Drogba and he's going to go to Inter Milan. We'd have been in for Tevez and I am writing him off as staying where is given the most recent twist in the saga. We'll miss out on a hell of a lot of top quality, world class players this summer but it only takes the one to join before others get interested in joining Robinho and (insert other superstars name) in my opinion!

thing is i think this window could possibly see the Worlds greatest talents in football rotating teams I mean if you look at the people who look like they will possibly be moving...

Ribery
Aguero
Eto'o
Villa
Kaka
Tranny
Tevez

Can anyone remember a window with transformations like these before?

Think there was a season, Crespo,Vieri,Figo,Veron off the top of my head but few more will come!!!

The Italian Transfer Market bubble was around that time. Neved €41m, Buffon €52m and Zidane €73m!

one thing is certain about the transfer window this summer, the list of players who could be classed as "unobtainable" by City (for financial or footalling reasons) is far far smaller than it has ever been, with only a comparitavely small group of players you could consider "out of our reach" purely for footalling reasons rather than financial. compare that to the last 30 years and we are already in a stronger position than we have ever been, and I would be happy to see 5 or 6 experienced internationals with Premier League experience that will integrate with the squad straight away such as Lescott,Woodgate,Barry,Upson,Joe Cole,Crouch,Arteta,Cahill,Tevez,Agbonalahor,Glen Johnson,Adebayor,Kolo Toure,Van Persie.....all capable of improving the squad and realistic targets. its going to be a summer of twists and turns, with some suprising signings and possibly some suprising outgoings.
