Pretty sure crushes happened numerous times. Even with plenty of years to change things up they kept it the same.

Over 30 years before Hillsborough there was the tragedy at Burnden Park. Lots of parallels with what happened at Hillsborough yet nothing had changed.

Thought this needed a bump to bring a little perspective to proceedings on Sunday.

Good call, although I'm fairly sure the tragedy will get a mention on Sunday at some point.
I have every sympathy with the families of the bereaved - they have been systematically ignored, lied to and misrepresented in their search for the truth, and I have nothing but admiration for the way they have campaigned with fortitude and dignity.
The shameful coverage of the disaster in that despicable Murdoch comic The Sun should never be forgotten, and if there was any kind of justice in this world then serving police officers at the time should have languished at Her Majesty's Pleasure rather than enjoyied their early retirements scot free and blame free on fat pensions.
Whatever we think about the Liverpool fans somewhat cynical manipulation of this awful event to garner public and media attention, and the ensuing groundswell of public goodwill it will bring, we should recognise and respect the day with dignity.
I have little time for the club or their fans, but a tragedy of this magnitude transcends petty rivalries.
Acknowledging the loss of 96 blameless fans and the families who are left with a hole in their lives where a loved one used to be is reason enough for us to do the right thing.
Then hopefully we can give them a lesson in football as well as humility and head back up the East Lancs road with three points and go back to hating them again.
