Rodri scored 9 goals and got 11 assists last season from deep. If there was ever a sign to bring in a more defensive player alongside him and let him go forward more, that was arguably it. And then we would have had cover. Easy in hindsight though and hard to convince anyone decent to come when you're literally competing with the world's best player.

I agree if we are to persist with passing the ball across the 18 yard line at least have someone there capable of twatting one.
