Holding of Haaland

Sorry if I'm late to the party but I only got round to watching Ref Watch this morning and the general consensus was the incident was a penalty !

But they also thought the challenge by Dias on Hojlund was a penalty and it's difficult not to agree looking at the replays ...from 115 it was difficult to see on the day.....

Hojland holding Haaland is an entirely separate issue to the 'not a clear and obvious mistake' call when the referee waves away a penalty shout for the challenge by Dias. The referee never even signaled for a foul on Haaland.

Those ****'s on Rew Watch conflating the issues are just muddying the waters.

Did they explain how the ref, linesman and var all missed the clear penalty for holding. That's the point I'm really interested in how was it missed ?

Also Neville laughing about the holding didn't even suggest it was a penalty, buy for Dias implying it could be a penalty.

Do var listen to the commentary ?

Cheesy definitely had a rant after that shitshow. It was on YouTube, but I think it's been pulled. It was 100% bent. Talor was not in charge of that game.

Not sure he was actually sacked, but he was certainly put on gardening leave, and then they parted company soon after. Wouldn't be surprised if he signed an NDA because he never talks about it.
this was nothing to do with Cheesy leaving BBC , it occurred a few weeks later when David White was scheduled to be on co-comms on BBC Radio Manchester but then the Bennell thing came to light and BBC quickly pulled Whitey from broadcast which Cheesy didn't agree with

You've got to get the 115 dig in haven't you? ;-)

So, the BBC are happy broadcasting the nonces but not their victims?

remember someone who used to sit near me at game told me this, he said as it had gone to court they couldn't take a chance on White disclosing things, but I 100% agree with you regarding BBC

Needs to be a bit more inventive rather than just standing still in the box from a corner

Start further away from the chaos and make a late run in the box, and holding then actually stands out like a sore thumb, but also mixes things up a bit

I just don't remember him being on after the that Chelsea game, but that makes sense. I think it probably contributed towards his decision to 'leave'.

The ref was looking DIRECTLY at it, but the ball never went deep! We needed to put him on the back post and send over a deep one HE COULD GET TO, so that he was being stopped from getting the ball.

Refs look at it and just tell themselves “he was never going to get that cross” so no harm, no foul!
