Why is this not a foul ?

The holding of Haaland seems to be of the scale this season.

In the first half it was a clear penalty by the rags centre forward. Than in general play Maguire was holding him in the build up play. This was stopping Haaland make a run.

It seems when Haaland uses his strength he is penalised.

I thought it was only me that gets wound up by this.

Seems to be one of those things that has crept into the game and is overlooked. Should have been a penalty. Anywhere else on the pitch it would be a free-kick. But they're never given. So opponents will keep doing it. Wierd.

It's like that thing when defenders shepherd the ball out of play, that looks more like obstruction (with zero attempt to play the ball). It is an accepted part of the game now. Rather like that thing they (we do it, too) do now straight from kick-off when the central defender blocks off the striker to stop him from closing down the keeper. Ungentlemanly. But presumably, the least of our worries at the moment...

Holding at corners is ridiculous it real is rugby on Haaland.
But the holding by Maguire in the building up was pissing me off.
People moaning that Haaland didn't make a run etc but Haaland couldn't !
I notice on one attack down the wing you could see Haaland at the bottom of the screen trying to ger Maguire of him. It was in the box so a clear penalty again.

It's not an excuse for our form but if the fouls are given it frees Haaland up to cause chaos. At the moment rugby tackling Haaland seems to be allowed.

It doesn’t seem to even bother Big Erl, I’m sure if he made more of it they couldn’t ignore him.

It doesn't help when tv shows replays of holand holding Haaland with both arms and twat Neville just laughing about it. Fast forward and Neville is trying to claim a dodgy penalty for rags.
Pundits should be calling the holding out

That's what does my head in. If both players can use their strength, then fair enough. But the way it works currently is that defenders are allowed but attackers aren't. It's been a problem for years tbh. I still remember regularly seeing Peter Crouch being penalised basically for being taller.

The interpretation on holding an opponent is ridiculously inconsistent in general, full on bear hugs, grapples and wrestling players to the ground often go completely unpunished yet other times the lightest of snatches at an opponents shirt sees fouls and free kicks awarded.

You watch Arsenal at corners blocking holding which is allowed apparently and seems now the premier are letting a lot more go as in you can hug a player to the ground as long as the ball goes nowhere near them! Ridiculous! It's impeding the player am sure if a player grabbed hold of a goalie like that the referee would blow for a foul!

Strangely enough, all the red shirts cannot play without following through on a player or manhandling them to the ground. Hence this year's introduction by the PL to 'toughen up' football and allow more contact.
