Without getting too morbid, is there anyone out there in City cyberspace who has had a hole in the heart or knows someone who has had?

After a few years of going for tests I've just recently been diagnosed with the condition and I'm expecting to go back into Wythenshawe soon to get it sorted.

Anyone give me news that will cheer me up... or scare the shite out of me!?

When I was younger my nextdoor neighbour found out she had a hole in the heart, I don't know about anything in detail as I was quite young but I know she had an operation on it to fix it and she is still going strong to this day!

I had a hole in the heart from birth , had an operation on it at the age of 6 , had to go back to the hospital onece a year until i was 16 for a check up , not been back for 20 yrs and never had a problem.

Yeah, I've only heard that... a thousand times!
Haha, sorry.

But it is a more common condition than people think, and is easily fixable with very minimal complications.

You'll be fine pal.

Much appreciated.

Depends how bad it is I guess. Just had a mate who's needed a few months off after having it fixed, but I think his was pretty serious. Like the guys say though it's common and treatable. Good luck.

Yeh best of look mate. Wythenshawe hospital has a good success rate.
Chin up mate was this city induced?

Depends how big it is mate!

Eldest daughter diagnosed with one from birth now nearly 18

Its only small no proceedure required just annual check ups and now doesnt need that!

Competed for Wales in swimming running and tri and never had a problem.

If the hole is abit bigger they can "patch" it by passing a tube up the vein in your groin into the heart and then removing the tube. This is quite a common proceedure.

My youngest daughters condition is alot more complicated however and is treated with medication.

Goodluck Soulboy hope its not too serious but place your faith in the experts because they really do know what they are doing and have been a great help to our family!
