Holidays

Went through the new EES at Charles de Gaulle yesterday. To be honest, I don’t think it must be working fully yet. Passport in the reader, photograph and that’s it. No fingerprints. In fact it’s just like the e-gate system we’ve had at Manchester arrivals for a few years. Still got the passport stamped at a booth beyond the gate.

Not sure if France have fully implemented it yet. We have and it's been a bit chaotic thus far.

Recently got back from the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana). There’s some beautiful beaches and clear blue sea over there. However, be really careful where you eat. I ate some food on Saona Island which was a big mistake. I ended up with a bad stomach for around ten days.

If food poisoning doesn't get you some **** on a moped will. Proper fucking dodgy place and I've mooched all over Bosnia

Not to mention getting harassed by shopkeepers every time you walk past their shop. “Come and buy something from my shop!”.

Did a week Ai on the Dom Rep in February after a week's cruise so saw bits of 5/6 islands none of which I enjoyed, always a bit of an atmosphere...saw a fellow guest get racially abused, a white guy with an Asian wife on Dominica, on St. Maartin we were told we couldn't sit at certain tables to watch the planes as we were not eating at the bar etc.

The hotel at DR was on the beach but nowhere near anywhere to walk to, apart from an excursion we stayed within the hotel grounds.

The excursion from there was fine and the best one we did over the 2 weeks but, mini bus to boat was like a warzone with beggars, monkeys & parrots on ropes, mad driving on anything that moved around the harbour etc never again.

As a pricy holiday taking into account VFM , it was shite.

Booked 5 nights in Malaga early December.
Already booked el caminito del rey, plan to do the Picasso museum, and looking at a trip inland to Mijas, which looks stunning.
Anyone been? Advice/ tips most welcome.

It's being phased in across much of the EU. Fingerprints are an integral part of the system so nowhere near full implementation yet.

Finger printing has not been implemented yet at CDG and France have dropped the compulsory question requirement about money, return travel and accommodation,

I’m going to be in New York for the Villa game next Sunday. I’m hoping to watch the game in Amity Hall with fellow Blues. But when I search on Google maps there are two Amity Halls, one in lower Manhattan near the financial district, and one up near the top of Central Park. Anyone know which one I need to go to?

Just back from the Pembrokeshire area of Wales.
Honestly wasn't really looking forward to it.
But it was a lovely area, friendly locals, great local pub. Fishguard, Haverfordwest, etc all nice little towns.
The area so much cleaner then where I live in Thanet. No graffiti, no litter, no weeds growing on the roads, and the road surfaces excellent.

So much better then ramsgate, margate, broadstairs etc. We have graffiti, litter, weeds and the smell of weed everywhere.
We had never thought of retiring in Wales but that area is lovely.

It’s the one in downtown mate, opposite Washington Square Park
