Holidays

Just back from a City break to Barcelona.
Thank you all for your suggestions.
Stayed at the H10 Metropolitan which is a fab hotel on the excellent Ramblas de CATALUNYA which is a great place for shops, bars and Restaurants.
Spent time on a Yacht cruise down Port Olympic and did a great Wine and Cheese taster session down the Gothic Quarter.
Saw fab buildings such as the Casa Mila and Sagrado Familia.
Only saw two Premier shirts all trip - both Gods team :-) one was mine and the other was definitely a local lad !!!

Women next to us in Cyprus has just priced this hotel we are at in Ayia napa fir next July 10 days all inclusive 3 kids (2paying adult prices) plus 2 adults £15k! For Cyprus who the fuck can afford that, she certainly can’t.

Going to Dominican republic in 2 weeks with TUI, its all inclusive but was wondering about tips to staff at the bar,the lady that does the room etc,can anyone advise, how much how often if at all?

What about the gardeners, the omelette chefs and the backing singers and the reception staff and the electricians and the maintenance man and and and the man who looks after the ph balance and alkininity levels in your pools. Then there is the animations teams and the laundry dudes and the accountancy teams and maneagment etc and the security teams etc etc.

Anyway the good thing is you get to sitback chillout and relax, as it's all inclusive so no need to bother with cash in the compound. We did tip our room girl in Punta Cana, giving her a fiver dollar bill on the strict provisio she stopped fooking around with our towels by turning them into animated objects de art.

Just take a decent wedge of $1 bills and hand them out quite liberally.

I was there in March and we tended to tip $1 per drink/round for the bar staff, plus a few bucks for other staff (restaurant, cleaning etc)
It certainly wasn't expected like it is in America but they were very appreciative and we got great service from everyone.

It all helps when you're only earning around $9 a day for up to a 12 hour shift.

I'm looking at flights for Japan next year. On the off chance that Covid kicks off again and they close their borders to foreigners do I have any kind of cover regarding refunds etc?
