Holidays

Cala Bona for us in Majorca. Never been, so haven’t a clue what it will be like.
We spent a month there in March and April and have to say a very pleasant family/couples oriantated resort harbouring a pretty Marina. The promanade walk from Cala Bona takes you into neighbouring Cala Millor that's far more busy than it's smaller neighbour. If your energetic enough you can continue to walk over to Sa Coma and S'illiot.

Around the harbour square there are some excellent eateries and a very nice waterfront cafe called Thallasa for morning ablusions. Our local day time watering hole was the Rope and Anchor in the square serving very nice pub style meals with outdoor seating and was also utilised as a sports pub for the football.

No background music blasting away like some so called sports bars. If you enjoy Karaoke then head on down to Sundancers every evening for some quality scoops and par for the course English pub grub. Drink prices are reasonable enough at 2.50 to 3 euros a scoop and happy hour was every afternoon.

Our favourite night time eatery was Janet and Johns overlooking the harbour with quality food and a very nice ambiance. There is also a very good Indian restaurant next door.

If youre self catering with a family then Cala Millor has a brand new Aldi's in town that's around a 15 minute walk from Cala Bona. Buses are frequent and taxis plentiful. The price from our digs to Cala Millor was around the 6 euro mark.

If you enjoy live entertainment then the waterfront Tui Levante hotel has nightly entertainment as does the wonderful Hotel Cal Bona that had some wicked rock bands playing. Just walk in off the street and no need to be resident.
The Hotel Cala Bona is another pretty place to sit out as it overlooks the harbour with excellent waiter service

Just back from 10 days in Menorca - Cala Galdana. Beautiful, relaxing and a lovely break. Off to Italy in late August for the mother in law's birthday. It's costing a bloody fortune and I have to spend a week pretending I give a shit it's her birthday!

Off to my in laws in France.

Sounds shit, but great weather, all paid for by them, great food, swimming pool and nice wine.

They live in between Bordeaux and Bergerac

Absolutely stunning beach is Cala Galdana, wouldn't look too far out of place in south east Asia.

Before the year is out, I have....

Gran Canaria
Marbella (work trip though)
A 4 night cruise
Ibiza
Toronto
Tenerife
Bali for Xmas/New Year

Looking forwards to all of them, but particularly Toronto as will be my first time to Canada.
Also first time to Ibiza too, be nice to finally tick that one off.

Just had 10 nights in Cala En Porter Menorca, nice place but probably won't go again.

Gran Canaria - (Puerto Rico) 16 September -for 10 nights, already counting the days.
Make sure you go Puerto Morgan while your there if you haven’t been before mate.

You’ll be bowled over by the friendliness of the locals in Toronto I went there a few years ago, had a map out looking for some place and a guy on his way to work approached us and asked if he could help, which he did, not an isolated incident.

Niagra Falls is good for a trip on the water but the Town is Blackpool with a big waterfall. Kiss me quick hats, tacky shops, amusement arcades, etc. if you go on a coach trip a visit to the Ice Winery en route is worth it.

I don't think that's too far away from where we stay,as it comes up on weather app as Mogan, and it's a taxi ride down to the town of Puerto Rico, will check it out in September mate for sure, quick google looks lovely.

Going on my first holiday since 2018, week in Orlando then a week in Clearwater, never been to the latter before, bit of a treat for Mrs H who has put up with a lot this past 4 years.

It was beautiful mate, as were the other beaches along the coast. Stunning. Enjoy Toronto, I went many moons ago and loved it, but I am sure it is quite different now. Plenty to look forward to on your list though, very jet set!
