Girlfriends going to Mykonos for a friends 50th in a couple of weeks, 22 euros for a pint of beer apparently !In Corfu at the moment. In a terrible hotel which I’ve paid completely over the odds for, this is the 17th time I’ve been to Greece and I can’t believe the price increase in almost everything, things are so expensive.Been to Spain 3 times in the last few months and things are half the price of over here! Still having a great time swimming in the sea and generally relaxing by the pool and eating lovely Greek food, not to mention drinking plenty of Mythos and Ouzo! Had a lovely day trip to Corfu town yesterday ,which was very busy and lively, all in all a good trip but very expensive
I was surprised how cheap Malaga and Seville were this year; hotels, food and trains all great value, even at 1.1 euro to the pound. In Corfu at the moment. In a terrible hotel which I’ve paid completely over the odds for, this is the 17th time I’ve been to Greece and I can’t believe the price increase in almost everything, things are so expensive.Been to Spain 3 times in the last few months and things are half the price of over here! Depend what you are after, koh samui much nicer, phi phi is stunning.Thinking of booking Thailand (Phuket) in Jan, any advice welcome on the best place for flights and accom advice, want to be around the Karon beach area, people i have spoke to say to book your hotel yourself,i assume sites like booking.com

We’re in Zakynthos at min its really expensive!! €5 a mythos minimum, meal out for the two of us is at least € 80 with a couple of drinks its crazy prices!!! gyros are cheap & good though! ;)It's funny but just before Covid in 2019 we had a long stay in the UK, we went to Majorca for a week and then Rhodes for 2 weeks. Things then were much more expensive in Greece than Spain even before covid. One guy told me the country had so much foreign debt they'd put the taxes up on everything.
I wouldn't go to Greece again, I wasn't impressed with Rhodes, (although Lindos was nice) but I really loved Majorca, especially Puerto De Soller.

We got back from Kalkan (her dad lives there) a couple of months ago and going back but to Side in October.
We've just been to Kefalonia and were paying 3-3.50 euros for a mythos. Averaged about 35 euros for meal with wine for two. We’re in Zakynthos at min its really expensive!! €5 a mythos minimum, meal out for the two of us is at least € 80 with a couple of drinks its crazy prices!!! gyros are cheap & good though! ;)
Another place her dad has lived actually, I’m assuming it’s ok though mate as he wouldn’t have bought a place there if it wasn’t, and Belek is not far from Side where we’re going it seems.Going to icmeler never been there before.
Normally go to kusadasi or belek
Tunisia in May and gambia next December.Another place her dad has lived actually, I’m assuming it’s ok though mate as he wouldn’t have bought a place there if it wasn’t, and Belek is not far from Side where we’re going it seems.
If you are ever close enough, I’d highly recommend Kekova and Simena, stunning place.
We’re staying in laganas which is the main resort maybe we’re paying a premium for that? but the days of a cheap holiday to greece are long gone it seems, even the supermarkets are so expensive €9 for 4 cans of mythosWe've just been to Kefalonia and were paying 3-3.50 euros for a mythos. Sounds like they are having tourists over. I stayed in two resorts in Kefalonia, Skala and lixouri both the same prices. It was about a euro a beer and 1.5 a cider in the supermarkets, about 8.50 a mousaka and 3 for a gyros im restaurants. We’re staying in laganas which is the main resort maybe we’re paying a premium for that? but the days of a cheap holiday to greece are long gone it seems, even the supermarkets are so expensive €9 for 4 cans of mythos
