Holidays

Still going here I see.

There's a huge difference between educating yourself about the harm your actions do to others and stopping than to keep contributing to the misery of children and women in sweatshops and factories

Your shite off Amazon is the same shite off Temu. Enjoy your socks. I'm sure you'll enjoy them far more than the poor sod who made them. Who ironically, probably doesn't have any.
I already congratulated you on stopping funding the narcotic trade and endangering young children embroiled in the supply and manufacture of hard drugs. Well done on your efforts to make yourself human again, big pat on the back chap.

Chinese products, alongside Vietnamese Bangladeshi and the Indian subcontinent intertwine every "fabric" of our society and difficult to swerve as they make up such a high percentage of the rag trade. Seeing as your such a reformed character what about attending the Chelsea game and having a wibble at anyone wearing a City Shirt

The kids that made our purchase from Amazon probably had no socks, but the kids that served you probably had no teeth. As long as the drugs got you through Les Mis ..that's the main thing eh

Again ... People in glass houses.

How do you cancel Fiesta De Los Reyes over a little bit of rain. (Festival Of The Three Kings) Spanish Xmas Eve.

Gutted as we didn't travel here for a full English, non stop entertainment and copious amounts of ale .. No! we came to inhale their culture and whiff of the ambience that this pretty coastal town imparts.

We're thinking of booking a winter sun holiday at half term and have been looking at Sharm El Sheikh but a couple of the messages in here have put me off it! Is there anyone who's been recently who can recommend it? My wife is wanting to go but I'm a bit wary of it. That said I didn't want to go to Kusadasi in Turkey last year and it was a great holiday.

We ren't a fan of the Canaries and wondered if there was anywhere else people could recommend? We're after a family holiday.
I would try to avoid All Inc unless you go top of the range. Their kitchen hygiene leaves much to be desired especially if it's a buffet. Also the Russians(of which there are many) have very questionable habits when it comes to a buffet. The time we went AI at both of us were bad for a few days. We also went to Dahab in a small hotel that was good for a non-buffet breakfast. We ate out in local restaurants with stuff freshly cooked and were both fine.

Really enjoyed my 5 days in Malaga in December. Did it all dry too, no beer, which is an achievement in itself!
Thanks @RobMCFC for the guide.
El caminito del Ray was brilliant, but not for the feint hearted, especially the last foot bridge.
The Picasso museum was ok, but not really my cup of tea, preferred the modern art one, there's some nice stuff in there.
Anyway, im off to fuengirola on the 22nd for 2 weeks.
Planning to hire a scooter and do a bit of riding up the coast + inland, for a few days. Will probably visit Marbella, as I've never been.
Any good tips, city bars etc in Fuengirola?
Cheers.

Going to Seville on Friday, for 4 nights, any tips from others who have been would be welcome..
Been a couple of times and it is a fantastic city. The Cathedral is worth a visit. Plaza de America is stunning. We did the hop on hop off bus tour which was well worth it. Also found just wandering around was great, so many little bars and the tapas was great. Talking of tapas we got recommended La Brunilda which was fantastic, few years ago but just looked at reviews and still highly rated. If you fancy a trip out Cordoba on the train is well worth a visit.
Have a great time.

Just noticed Seville are at home Monday night if you fancy getting a match in?

All bills up mortgage up food up. Days out with kids £100 a pop. Never worried about money crap times sick of working to live holidays were my one treat . No idea hw anyone is affording luxuries at the moment
Agree mate, very hard times for lots of people/families.

Last year we over spent on trips.
Malta, gibraltar, jersey, wales, greece, centre parcs, lakes, chester.
We sat down and decided it was excessive and we hadnt put much in the way of savings aside and that 2026 would have to be more careful.

2 weeks later and we thought fuck that. Lifes for living.
Krakow, portugal, venice, wales, greece and centre parcs in the bag and thinking of a weekend away in may.

Went last year, lovely place.

Most of the main spots have been mentioned, but if you like ruins, head out to Italica. It's a Roman town where Hadrian (of the wall fame) was born. You can get a bus there from the bus station, took about 20 minutes and it's the least touristy place imaginable. We weren't even sure we were at the right place, but you pay a couple of Euros for entry and get to wander round. They've got an amphitheatre that was used in the last series of Game of Thrones and some spectacular mosaics.

I actually didn't like the tourist bus, as it can't get to most of the best places, or you just get to see the back of them, so I'd suggest just walking.

Mushroom is worth going inside/up and your tickets give you day and night access and it's worth doing both, as a different experience.

Is the right answer. I make sure a bit goes into my pension but all my spare money goes on holidays. I’ve not had any savings for years.

Seville is a very walkable city so no need for a bus, as long as your hotel is relatively near the historic centre.

Yes, we were just off the square with the Hercules Columns but even walking to the Plaza de Espana is pleasant, as it's flat and there's mostly things to see.

We also walked to the Puente del Alamillo when I realised it was the bridge on the front of the engineering magazines when I was at Uni.

Got Málaga, Granada and Cordoba booked for September with a bit of R&R afterwards. Tick a few more cities off the list and see some more Alcazars, which are some of the most incredible buildings I've seen.

I make sure there is always a bit of “disaster money”. Pension gets a small amount paid in. But yeah, the rest goes on hols.
If i didnt have a hol lined up not too far in the future life would be a continual hamster wheel

Ps. Im not on a fortune at all , im self employed. I just spend it on hols
