In fairness he never got any backing of the suits in the second half of last season seemingly.
They were looking at Pellegrini last December due to Mancini's outburst around the 20th.

I'm not anti Mancini either but that is how it happened.
The media do not hold that much sway, watch the Barca docu and see how Ferran and Txiki operate.
You will see the media are something to be dealt with, not cow away from in their business model.

Cup, prem, 2nd, cup final......

It's a hard act to follow holistic or not.

The facts are we have spent £80m plus and the owners are going to want results.

That means progress in CL and a real challenge in the prem.

Interesting season ahead!

Why do only successful players get accused of having egos?
They don't really, in fact the egos of younger players these days are often what's suggested as stopping them becoming successful.

Fair point. But for established players its the likes of Messi, Ibrahimovic, Tevez etc that get this levelled at them

I suppose because they either need great self confidence to become successful in the first place, which is often confused with ego, or because they genuinely have a huge ego.

The balance, both tactically and mentally, is the main thing I'm looking forward to this season. It feels to me like all the weaknesses I felt the team had, as well as the things we've been criticised for by many, have been addressed. I'm hoping for an uneventful run to the end of the season, hopefully with some silverware to polish.
