Home Grown Players

Damn. Didn't realize our Home Growns were that unimpressive. Definitely need our Academy to bare some fruit soon!

With the way he's playing Huws could get some decent playing time next year, not sure if he's homegrown or not.

I dont think it will be a huge problem to be honest.

Hart, Clichy, Rodwell, Richards, Milner and Wright are all here to stay currently, just leaving us two players short. Sell Pants and get a homegrown second string keeper, and get Luke Shaw in = Problem solved.

Luke Shaw is widely tipped to go to Chelsea

We should go all out in the summer and hijack the chavs and rags for shaw and Coleman. Two great attacking full backs. Get another top cb say Dante and bobs your uncle.

A slightly obscue question, but does anyone on here know the HG rules well enough to know if Eric Dier would count as HG if we signed him? He's English in every way, but moved to Portugal when he was 10 to join Sporting Lisbons academy. He's just broken into the first team there and if he carries on playing like he has this season, then he'll be a future england international, but he's only played a year of football in England. Would he count as HG?

Isn't there an English keeper playing in the Portuguese leagues too? Can't for the life of me remember his name.

Aye, Matt Jones, but he's not likely to get anywhere near the national team. There's also a lad from the Bolton academy who moved to one of the lesser teams last year, can't remember his name though

Matt Jones, that's the lad! Remember him being on Football Focus a few months ago. His team got promoted to the top division last season.

There was some suggestion he might replace Helton as the Porto keeper in the future, which would be a surprise, but some people must rate him highly if that's the case. If he did move to Porto then he probably would be pushing for a place in the England squad, which would be very strange

Surely Eric Dier would be, he was bound to have been playing for a club from 6 -10. Don't you to have submit season team sheets and match team sheet at that age group?

From Wiki :- "Born in Llanelli, Huws started his career with a five-year spell at Swansea City, before he was signed by Premier League club Manchester City in 2009"

So yes, he's HG. Not to mention U21.

So was Robinho
