Home Truths: Why We've Won Naff All In 34 Years.

Because we have a chop and change mentality and give no one a chance!

Give Mancini a chance, he's not been there 12 months yet. Let him build what he is building. Too many people here have a small time mentality and can only look at the last 2 results and not look at the bigger picture!

Sort it out lads.

14 City managers since the old alky over the way was appointed and people wonder why we've won nowt. Some of you seem to want everything at once, success, trophies AND fantastic football overnight. It won't happen so FFS try a bit of patience.

He has been here a year almost now and the football we play now is worse than when he first came and it was bad enough then.

He goes on about having two attacking fullbacks. Did they make any difference?

He puts on Santa Cruz who he has virtually told can fck off in January. Why do that?

He moans about Johnson which makes the press and guess what, Johnson is too scared to try anything in case it doesnt come off.

He substitutes a forawrd and brings on a defensive minded player for the 2nd time in 4 games.

He persists playing Yaya fcking Toure who is just a fcking waste of space.

Why is this manager so good?

Just a typical comment of the scourge afflicting MCFC! - Try BACKING THE MANAGER for once. You'll be calling Yaya the worlds best midfield general by the end of the season. You need your head checking!

About an 2 hours before the game yeserday i was actually questioning for the first time in my 40 years of supporting city whether i could be arsed going because i could pretty much guarantee what was going to be served up,a team who defended for their lives and a team who would struggle if they didnt get an early goal and thats how it turned out utter dross.
Ok circumstances ie balotelli ban and ade being injured didnt help the manager with his striking options but his substitutions at the end were mind boggling.
Also the atmosphere at the ground unless its a derby is absolute shite,we should be title contenders with the players we have and it should be rocking but i fear that other fans like myself know whats coming before a game starts slow uninspiring football.
Mancini needs to take the handbrake off and lose this fear of losing before winning because if he doesnt more fans will question why they spend there hard earned on it because that was not entertainment.
I fear we have wasted over 2 years on not having the right manager, although i am not calling for bobbys head i want to be entertained and at the moment i am not.

Well the simple reason why we have not won anything in 34 years is that we have never had a team that is as good as the 76 league cup winning team. it was pretty solid from top to bottom, even with Tommy Booth playing in Bell's position.

Today's City team is still a way off... the defence is not as good (compared with the Watson and Doyle defences), and the midfield goal tally doesn't remotely compare with the '68-'76 teams. City are also playing with half an attack.

The good news is that with the addiiton of a central midfield goal scorer (In January or a miracle llike Michael Johnson returning fully fit) plus someone who can play up front (like Balotelli but more than 90 minutes per three months) City may get close to winning something.

We have to accept the reality though... the overall squad is strong but the first 11 needs a couple of players still to even get into the 4th spot. To win the league City will have to upgrade the entire defence and bring in 2-3 top class midfield/attackers who can actually score 15-20 goals a season.

Its going to take another 3 years at least. So based on that we should just leave Mancini to it because slagging him off won't change much and firing him will just prolong the agony. Getting 4th spot is essential because then City can attract the next class of players that the team needs.
