One of the main objections to the houses being built is that it is on a flood plain.....and yet they are being ignored.

It is absolutely peeing it down at the moment and I am very worried that my pond will overflow. Fortunately I have been able to turn the wwaterfall off which has given me some respite.
The next few hours will be critical.

Good to see that the flood defences worked and the environmental agency played a blinder. Flooded playing fields, golf courses and parks is infinitely preferable to flooded homes.

Ive never understood the wording of that sign, surely it should be "road is liable to flood" if a tree is looking a bit wobbly its liable to fall not liable to falling? if a animal is not to well its liable to die not liable to dying?
That sign gets on my nerves everytime I see it!

I agree. It's almost as annoying as people neglecting to use apostrophes or misspelling simple words when they post. ; )
