Homophobia in football

Just saw this:

Religion is so messed up. You can be openly homophobic if you want as long as you hide behind “religious reasons”.

I am not homophobic in any way whatsoever but i have no problem with someone not wearing the armband. Nobody should be forced to do anything against their own beliefs.

It's his work place. None of us should be compelled to make 'statements', it should be enough just to leave your prejudice at home and do a good job. So long as he's not actually being homophobic at work he's doing nothing wrong.

In this world of binary choices that doesn't appear good enough, will Islam trump Stonewall? Watch this space.

The thing is he is by definition being compelled to make a statement, whether he wears it or not. Same with the Poppy, the No Room for Racism campaign, or anything else along those lines. If you wear it, you're making a statement, if you refuse to wear it, you're also making a statement.
