I think it is more likely that the FA will have issue with it more than the fans. I wouldn't be surprised if 80% of the FA Board will have issue with it.

It must be incredibly difficult for a gay person to out themselves in a sport where a high percentage of the governing body are grey haired old men who had the best part of their formative years growing up in a society were people were punished by the State for being homosexual.

So what if 8% of fans will stop going to games? More tickets available for decent human beings.
