Check timestamp, its the same week-old news that was regurgitated a bit then never followed up on by any news source.

Looks like a non-starter even though I think he'd be a great buy for us.

Original thread with same ESPN source: <a class="postlink-local" href="http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=221471" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">viewtopic.php?f=10&t=221471</a>

Nicked from mancityfans

Yesterday, a local tv station from Romania broadcasted the game between CSKA Moscow and Kuban Krasnodar. The reason they are broadcasting the game is that Kuban is managed by Dan Petrescu, the former Chelski player and ex romanian national team right back. So, in the half time, before all the players prepared to start the second half, the russian television who had the coverege showed Petrescu, talking beside the fence, behind the bench with Kevin Hitchcock, the former gk who was with Brian Kidd.
I don't think Kiddo was there to see just a game from Russia, but was there to see Keisuke Honda.

Everyone is linked with honda, all clubs want an asian connection to get asian fans on board and he's one of the best options. not sure the best way to do that is with a jap though. asians hate them.

Keisuke Honda has played down rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool or Manchester City, claiming he is happy at CSKA Moscow.

Premier League pair Liverpool and City are both thought to be keen on signing highly-rated winger Honda this summer.

The 25-year-old insists he is content to stay at CSKA if he receives no offers and that if he was to leave Russia he would prefer a switch to Spain.

"CSKA are playing Champions League football next season so staying is not a bad option," Honda told Sankei Sports.

"However, I do want to test myself at a higher level if the opportunity arises. My preference is still to play in Spain."

Sky sports reckon Blackburn are gonna bid £12 million for him, I hope they get him

Skysports.com understands that Blackburn Rovers are ready to make a bid for Japanese superstar Keisuke Honda.

A host of clubs have been linked with the CSKA Moscow midfielder, with clubs in England, Italy, Spain and France all said to be keen.

But Rovers are now ready to try and make a move for the 25-year-old and are prepared to bid £12million for his signature.

Honda has been linked with a move away from Russia all summer and although he insists he is happy in Moscow, a move to one of Europe's top leagues is sure to appeal to the former VVV Venlo ace.

Skysports.com also understand that Arsenal could enter the race for his signature with Arsene Wenger believed to be an admirer.

He'll cost more than that, Moscow told Juventus he'd cost around 25m Euros I think. Talented player, ESPN Soccernet can go and die for saying we were on the verge of signing him about 1 1/2 months ago, only for there to be no follow-up at all.

We will have a potential of up to a 125 million glory hunting fans!
Shirt sales may cover his transfer!<br /><br />-- Fri Jul 15, 2011 5:17 pm --<br /><br />

Keep up with the times, mate. The speculation linking him to City ended when this thread last died, a month and a half ago. This thread was resurrected talking about Blackburn wanting him, not us. If anyone is getting 125 million glory-hunting fans, it'll be them.

The notion that Asians hate Japanese!
That's not true mate!
Post war generation doesn't in general, likewise British counterparts against the Germans.
Pray tell me if I'm wrong.
