Hopes for the rest of the season

You are dreaming mate. If I hear this one more fucking time.

We are maxed out at 17 foreign spots. We couldn't buy even if we wanted to and they were available.

Which English players would you suggest will be available?

Players we currently hold aren't suddenly going to uproot themselves in January.

Laporte will solve plenty of the issues, he's not going to need three months to get up to speed.

I see people talk about making £100m bids for a near 30-year-old Koulibaly?

They obviously don't watch him much, as he's a left-sided centre-half. You know, where Laporte already plays.

We had more than enough cover in central defence when Vinny left, as the only player we targeted was Maguire.

They didn't envisage Stones regressing at such an alarming rate or Laporte being injured for half a season.

That's just bad luck. You don't buy for the sake of it.

Van Dijk was out for ten months with an Achilles injury at Southampton, if he were to suffer an injury the Liverpool defence would look just as ropey as ours.

Tolm, your posts make me think of that line by Woody Allen to Mariel Hemingway in one of his films — “Oh, stop being so mature!”

Top four.
Transition foden in ASAP.
Get rid of the passengers.
Finally buy some decent fucking defenders.

every team has injuries. We clearly have a fitness issue with the amount we have. Our squad is not good enough & we are relying on too many old players & others who are not good enough. It’s time to use Garcia & Foden if nothing else for their energy.
Being older is no excuse, they paid to do a job. Some senior players have dropped off and look disinterested.. But agree foden needs more game time, as everyone except pep thinks.

Haha. I'm just sick of all the Monday-morning quarter-backing.

It's as if the last two years just happened by chance, with no planning whatsoever.

Mendy has had two bad knee injuries, Laporte has missed half a season, Stones has lost focus.

Silva and Fern have ripened quicker than anticipated, but absolutely earned the right to be given the benefit of the doubt.

We also can't legislate for some of the officiating or brain farts that happen to all players.

We have dominated for so long, people can't accept that even a five per cent drop in standards means a regression.

It makes our achievements of the last two seasons all the more incredible.

We are having to accept our medicine at present but we can count ourselves very lucky that unlike the majority of other clubs, we have an owner and a manager who can administer a cure and will NEVER settle for second best.

This season can still be incredible and some of our fanbase have been all too quick to write off Pep and this group of players.

Second and just one domestic cup seems regression after four trophies last season.

The board will have set Pep targets and I’m unsure these would have been sufficient. Instinct says he walks at the end of 2019/20. Time off and then Juventus.

We wont win shit. The team is poor

Too many players taking the piss, mostly in the defence. Mendy is wank, ota is wank, bravo is wank, Fern is wasted there, Rhodri (plodri) is wank.

I annoyed, I going to have a wank, might make me feel better

Aside from your opinion of Rodri everything else is spot on.

and that’s a question that should be asked ???
Our players look slow & have zero energy plus injuries. Why is that ? In my view it has to be down to training routines.

The players out always get injured stones, Mendy, Aguero. The big loss was laporte but we all knew we had no vinny replacement
So that’s down to club stupidity.

I agree injuries have been a factor but also a lack of depth in key positions & playing players out of position have not helped. Just screams lack of planning to me sadly
Sane and Laporte's injuries have little to do with training regimes.

We have less injuries than other sides. Much less than Liverpool.
