Hotel Stays Before Matches To Be Scrapped By Pep

It doesn't have to be one size fits all. Certain players, eg those with screaming babies, might be "encouraged" to stay at the CFA. Or any with weight issues. If Balotelli was still with us I imagine he would be locked up at the CFA before big games.

The point I'm making is we are prepared to trust the players 100% before a game to be in peak form and state of mind but we arnt prepared to trust them after a game not to over do the pizza.
In my limited opinion if your taking this sports science diet thing seriously I would of thought you would of wanted your player at his peak on match day not after the game.
Its nothing of the sort.I`m saying that he has given them trust and treating them like adults. Its now up to the players to confirm that the trust Pep is showing towards them is warranted.Pizzza, alcohol, late nights and sex may be off the menu for some and others may indulge. Why "cage" them up like prisoners before a game.Makes you wonder if Peps way is the correct way, as he won plenty of trophies with his previous two clubs.

Taking into account our home record since the overnight stay at hotels was introduced I'd say this was an excellent idea! It must make it feel like an away game to the players in some ways.

I thought the players had stayed in hotels before home games for a while. I'm sure I recall seeing them leaving the Hilton before a home game a few years back

I seem to remember Mancini introduced it as I think it's common practice in Italy. I'm sure Pep will find out if anyone crosses the line and if they're not prepared to be adult about this they'll be shipped out.

I think the players can abstain for 1 night.

If they are professional enough, they will cope once a week, or once every 2 weeks.

If not, they will eventually be caught out.

Dropped! Benched!

Sound common sense. Personally I think it's fuckin ridiculous making the players stay away from home the night before a home game. The dangers of the Summerbee/Best friday-nighters are long gone and if they can't eat properly on a Friday/Saturday night these days they are in the wrong job and will soon be sussed.

I think Sven had them staying at hotels too. At the height of the season we will be playing twice a week with over seas travel as well for some games. The players are young adults, many have young families and are away from their homeland. I feel it is a good idea for them to be given the option of sleeping at home or using the CFA facilities as long as they all meet up x number of hours before the game and follow a strict routine/diet the night before a game. As others have previously said already those that turn up half cut will soon be outed and simply shouldn't be part of todays club. The Richard Dunne days are no more

Easier to book the pre-match escorts in a posh hotel.
