Hotels

There’s been asylum system backlogs for at least 20-plus years.
I can’t see any Government ever clearing the backlog and just wait until asylum claims based on climate change start pouring in !
It was a deliberate shutting down of the system to create this faux crisis.

Asylum seekers make up 3% of our current yearly immigration. It’s a tiny issue, magnified for maximum political tension.

The subject has been done to death and this version won’t get anyone anywhere, just like the others.

If you read the article it mentions that building work is taking place, sadly it doesn't say how much it's costing us but I blame the government for signing long term contracts with hoteliers around the country. I don't blame the owners for taking a guaranteed income from the taxpayer. This isn't the only example and the free hotels and food expenditure should be capped. If that means migrants don't get everything they'd like then tough.
I don’t like reading that site not necessarily due to its political viewpoint but mainly because of the way it splits up the articles by inserting links to unrelated topics and pictures with captions that throw my ability to read it easily on a mobile device.

Tl:Dr - I didn’t see the bit about it having some building work ongoing as I was probably scrolling quickly past the latest Meghan and Harry link.

Anyway that’s by the by. I think without knowing the full details of the contract it’s impossible to know if this is good or bad for the taxpayer. Perhaps the building would be left to rot further with no foreseeable developer interest as has previously happened there if the current owners hadn’t taken this action. Maybe this is just a marriage of convenience that solves two problems, the government get to house some immigrants for a few years and the owners acquire funds and assistance to plan a full scale renovation project. Or maybe it’s all a scam, difficult to say.

Is it acceptable to read "Altrincham Today" ?
My mum lives in Altrincham, the problem she has is that it’s all men.
It doesn’t matter where your from or your religion, groups of men will get bored with nothing to do as we all would.

Groups of men, strangers from different countries shoved in a hotel together all day, every day for months - your asking for trouble.

Many of us go to work to get away from the other half for 8hrs.

What are they supposed to do for years - stay in the bedroom?

If it was families it’s a bit different as you have a wife/child to keep you busy.

Sooner or later, these 200/300 men will need 200/300 women - it’s human nature.

Could they not have some work while the application is being worked - maybe something like what community service do which gives them a bit of pocket money?

But the above will give more incentive to get a dinghy over and come across illegally

Fuck knows but it can’t keep going on

The wokies will keep telling you it’s fine though.

"Wokies" might suggest there definitely is a problem, and that deliberately delaying asylum processing to increase the numbers in temporary accommodation definitely makes it much worse.

Pigs might fly if a wokie admits there is a problem with the UK immigration situation. Only 16% of immigrants (both legal and illegal) work. No problem here!

Brittania group own god knows how many old beautiful buildings that they have neglected to fuck and ruined and they now make more money renting them out to the government for asylum seekers. The whole thing is a big money making scheme, didn't know Best Western had got in on it too.
