Hours you work?

Not sure, i just work until stuff is done then sit on my arse until i have to do more :-D
I like that reply.
I'm a carpenter/ building contractor and living where I do weather has a big say in how much I work, definately work more in the 'non frozen' months unless I have some cushy interior work. I'm about to start framing a new house and will probably shut it down for a few months and start again maybe March time. Some people battle through and I have done when on a crew but it's very unproductive and wastes a lot of time and therefore money. I've lined up a couple of interior remodels but always hope to get as much ski time as possible.

Maybe I'll come and not work for you for a month or so.

Mon-Fri, leave the house around 7:30 and home anywhere between 18:00 and 20:30. Usually an hour or two of work before bed. A day off at the weekend and work the other day (from home), anywhere between 8 and 12 hours. And I'm nowhere near on top of my workload.

I'm an English teacher. I'm contracted 37.5 hours, which includes up to 24 hours of actual teaching, and don't get paid overtime, so I don't do overtime. I used to do a lot of extra work until one time one of my classes was cancelled for a day and my boss said that I 'owed' them 90 minutes so she was going to give me something to do. Nevermind the fact that I would almost always do 5 or 6 hours more than my contract. So I did the 90 minutes of 'owed' work and decided never to work more than what I'm contracted to for them again. There are certain times, like term ends when reports are due, when it's very busy and you have to do more than your official hours. Funnily enough, the subject of 'owed' hours never comes up then. It takes me about 20 minutes to walk to work. But it's evenings and weekends, which isn't ideal.

Leave home about half 6 and back home about half 6 in evening, get 6 trains a day. Official hours 9-5.15 but my choice as I like where I live not to move closer to work. Has been known for me to take 3 hours to get home during train strikes
