Houssem Aouar

Just read this, mental. In the middle, the competition for the 8's are KDB, Bernardo, Foden and Gundogan. IMO that's not good enough as Foden and Bernardo are also competing for the winger spots and Gundo is competing (and better) for the 6 spot.
Also note there isn't a proper 8 in there, KDB has the free role so virtually everywhere, obviously with Pep's system we've played that 8/10 hybrid sort but David Silva gone means there is a big gap and Gündogan has to fill it, and we've seen he's not great as an 8, his best games for City have come as a 6. Dilemma with Foden and still ifs as to if he can hold down that spot permanently, same with Bernardo, aside a game or two can't see him play there long term.

Aouar is right there but I can't understand why there's no interest (maybe lack of a free foreign spot, reaching but yeah).

Partnering KDB sounds easy but we'll have to wait and see. My guess is Gündogan does not feature as a 6 unless an injury again and for what it's worth Fernandinho is the alternate to Rodri for his final season.

Foden and Bernardo may not be competing for wide spots, we have Mahrez, Torres, Sterling, Jesus that can all play there, with talk of Messi or an alterntive that could too.
I'm not sure how much Pep trusts Foden as an 8 and i really can't see us playing Jesus that much out wide unless its a special case - such as Real Madrid were. IMO the wide spots will be between Mahrez, Torres, Sterling, Bernardo and Foden, with one of those stepping back into the 8 on occasions. But Pep has shown he loves Gundo in the 8/6 hybrid role, so maybe he's going to play KDB as a 10. Fuck knows.

Pep has said on many occasions Foden is Silva's replacement.

If that is all it would cost, I'd give Lyon the money myself, out of my wallet, as the idiot doing our transfer dealings doesn't have a clue what he is doing.....I hope Pep signs a new deal but the club f**k Txiki off when the summer ends, I hear Garry Cook is out of work now and he wasn't too bad last time, persuading the likes of Tevez, Kompany, Zabba, Robinho, Dzeko, Balotelli, De Jong, Kolarov, Yaya, Nasri and Aguero to join this club, I would like him to still be negotiating our deals instead of a man whose only true top purchases are De Bruyne, Sterling, Bernardo, Jesus, Sane, Walker, Mendy and Laporte, and plenty of mistakes accompanying them.

Care to help a brother out with 500k?

So it is happening, then....
Was supposed to be signed after the CL wasn't he. I just don't think we are interested, more pressing issues that need to be resolved. Perhaps if we had been getting money through the door for Stones, Ota and Zinch it would be something we look at.

I wouldn’t put much faith in anything Sam Lee says in any event
