how are we going to make top 4?

im not trying to be funny or anything but how are we going to get 4th with the way we are playing,at the moment we are EASILY the most out of form team in the top6 with the most pressure being on us with 8 games to go and a tough run in to say the least,iv never seen us playing this bad under mancini, fulham was beyond bad and i thought we were shocking against reading and every other performance in the last month or two has been shocking bar the united game were we were ok,i knew mancini was negative but hes brought it to a new level over the last few weeks,i know alot of ppl hate gillete soccer saturday but if you watched what they said last saturday about us they are 90% right, ppl jus cant except criticism, were slowly falling to pieces and it is exactly the same as last year,i know im being a negative twat but i just wondering how in the next 8 games were going to turn things around....

and we cant just hope tottenham will fuk up and well crawl across the line,iv never been more worried about making 4th cos if we dont i think it will be nothing less than an embarrassment considering tottenham only spent like 10 mil in the summer and we spent over 100,wow when i say that out loud it really puts into perspective how poor were doing at the mo!!

Relax. As others have pointed out, Spuds have dropped 7 points in the last 3 games, and their run in is tougher than ours - Chelsea, L'pool and us away, Arse at home.

As for form, we're struggling just now, although I didn't think we were as poor yesterday as others on here, but we will have enough to hold on to 4th - especially with AJ and Milner back

Really feel we need a few key changes in the side to really push on and make sure we consolidate a top 4 finish.

The defense is performing very well other than Kolarov at the moment.I know Zabaleta is not a natural left back but for me he's the best option at the moment. He will always work his ass off for the team.

In the midfield i would like to see Yaya removed from the advanced role as he just does not posess the stamina to play that role.I would have him partner Dejong instead of Barry. That's Yaya's natural role and it beggars belief that he has not been played in that role.Barry is slower than the sales of Gary Glitters latest record, i just don't think he's worth a starting role as along with his distinct lack of pace he adds no creativity whatsoever.
In the advanced midfield roles i would have Johnson on the right and Silva on the left. Our two best attacking outlets in the midfield and we need to start giving Dzeko something to feed off.So far he has just had scraps.

Up front i would love to see Dzeko and Tevez get a few games together.

You might have caught me defending Yaya on a few threads. But I will not switch Barry for anyone on our squad. The man plays consistently in most games and does a nice job.

Our problems are systemic, not individual. And the individuals most responsible for this systemic malfunctioning do not include Barry!!!

-- Mon Mar 21, 2011 5:16 pm --

He plays consistently average i think.I like Barry i think he's a model pro and always does his best and does the simple things well.So does Dejong but to far better effect.I just think he has a very limited all round game and tends to always take the easiest option he's not exactly one to turn defence in to attack is he?

You need a bit more than to players in centre mid playing square passes and an attacking midfielder who manages about 3 runs forward a game if you are wanting to ever take on the top sides.

Actually of our 3 midfielders, he is the most complete. Passes as well as either of the other 2, defends better than Yaya for sure, and almost as well as De Jong. Attacks way better than De Jong, and runs a hell lot more than either of the other 2. He was our best player in the first half against Kiev. Don't know why he was the one who got th hook instead of Yaya or De Jong.

Perhaps Mancini is trying to keep him fresh. But I love his game. And he does not lose the ball any more often than any of the others. Makes as many interceptions and tackles as De Jong. And joins attack almost as often as Yaya. And he is way more well rounded than either of the other 2.

I don't disagree. I personally believe we are carrying too many limited players. Players who are good at one thing or the other but not well rounded. The list includes
Hart, Micah, Lescott, Yaya, De Jong, Tevez, AJ, Balotelli, Viera, Kolo, Jo Boateng, Kolarov and SWP

On our squad the well rounded players are Kompany, Silva, Boyatta, Dzeko, Barry, Milner and MJ. Now they might not be the most talented or most experienced on the team, but their game is generally well rounded. They can defend, attack, distribute and play team oriented football properly. The former often have exceptional qualities in one area or the other, but their all round game are limited.

Of the limited folks, Boateng is most likely to become an all round player. It is his energy that is laacking. And that might just be a function of getting up to speed. Others have deficiencies that inhibits team oriented football. If we can reduce the number of limited players, and add more well rounded players, we will be a better team, and the limited guys with exceptional qualities will actually look better for the extra they bring to the squad. But with so many limited players. Play gets bogged down and we look worse.

For the first time in my life I'm grateful for the international break- as they say a change is as good as a rest.

The players can have a break from each other and regroup when they get back!
Are you kidding? After the insipid shite I've seen for the last two months I'd be running the arse off them.
