Easily given if the lino is incompetent and the ref is eager to give the defence a free kick instead of a place kick! According to the Laws of the Game you have to be infront of the ball, which clearly Kolarov wasn't.

According to GMR on the way back. The assitant can only give on what instructions the ref has given them. In this case, it seems Throw ins / Corners. You only have to look at the decision right infront on the lino 80th minute. Not given but a free kick given by the ref who was far away

am with everybody on here with this BUT the 2 we let in from corners will get paper over by this ref and uefa muppets

thats the shocking part and we are let in soft goals every other week or so
and our skipper looks well off the pace of last season

bare in mind the speed of the run / timing of the pass / movement of the defender...i think he probably got it just about right (the super super super zoomed in anlge someone posted on here showed his foot to be slightly in advance of the defender!)

tho there's no way he knew for sure baring in mind how close it actually was, though i doubt it was a guess

not awarding the penalty is still a far worse decision imo
