VDS..missed the first 7 games of the season with a broken finger..then missed 6 further games over xmas becasue of his wifees illness..

John Oshea..missed all games form Nov
Rio played 8 PL games all season
Vidic played 11 PL agems all seasons...they played together only 7 timess all season

Gary nev only returned for the last 4 months

Fabio broke a rib and played only 3 games

This meant that for most of Dec/Jan we had NO back four..playing fletcher/carrick in centre of defence

Owen HArgreaves..out all season

Micheal Owen missed the last 12 games

Andersson ..cruitiate...missed the last 10 games

Macheda...played only 5 games through injury

Giggs broken arm missed 9 games

yet despite this we lost the leage by ONE point , won some silverware and progressed to the 1/4 final of the CL

not to mention beating you lot several times and having the best defensive record

so not too bad

Owen, Macheda, O'Shea, Andersson, Fabio and Neville aren't even in your starting line up when fit.... Hargreaves has been out for years now... why are you registered to this board again?

they are squad memebers , we dont have a predefined " 1st 11"...it takes more competent players to progress in all competions...

It's all relative. An injury list is only an issue if nobody else has injuries. There seemed to be alot of injuries last season for everyone. But I'll let you off because I know rags find it difficult to comprehend that there are other teams with their own problems.

As you said that you were chasing the league title, shall we go through the Chelsea and Arsenal players that were injured.

I'll start with Essien and Joe Cole for Chelsea and Van Persie and Fabregas at Arsenal.
I'm certain that both of these had important players (e.g Drogba) missing due to the ACON as well

Hernandez can't be granted a first 11 spot yet tbh, more likely a 4-5-1 and put Scholes in over Hernandez, Hargreaves would be there if he was ever fit. If your going 4-4-2 it is still more likely Berbatov and Rooney up front.

Hargreaves was a long term casualty-ferguson didn't replace him.Tough.
Owen is a permanent sicknote-you knew that before you signed him and all told yourselves he was "better value than Tevez."
Neville barely plays anymore-and is closer to 40 than 30.
Macheda is a squad player in a top side and nothing more-as Oshea and Brown.
Giggs...like Neville and Scholes-no longer able to play 35 games a season.

So in reality,the only players on your list that you could argue would make a huge difference to your side's first 11 would be Vidic,VDS and Ferdinand.

So Pretty much the same adversities as any other club.
But of course,because it's you lot-it's always blown out of all proportion and available as an automatic excuse when things don't go 100% your way.

And you couldn't also use the argument that the reason you're so "hit by injuries" your manager has let the squad go to shit over the last few seasons?

And rather than moaning how unlucky you were with injuries-why not look at how lucky you were with your second top scorer last season-a bloke by the name of "own goal" if I'm not mistaken?

To be fair at one point they only had one player fit in the their back 5 which was Evra. Yes O'Shea, Brown, Neville and Rafael are all 'squad players' as you put them and therefore together they make up a right back and a centre back between them.
