Done a bit of driving in Dublin yesterday, and anyone who drives there regularly will testify to the fact that the centre of it is gridlocked during rush hour and that is a killer for fuel consumption. I live out within sight of the arse end of nowhere and I normally get low to mid fifties (308, 1.6 diesel).stony said:jimharri said:Positively tropical over here at the moment;
You must be driving with lead boots on to get such a shitty mpg(same trip computer as mine btw)

Just got back in after a trip to hospital to see a relative this morning (earlier post via iPhone) and just out of curiosity, I reset the trip computer as I left for home. Driving on the equivalent of the A roads linking towns in England, I managed to squeeze this out of it;stony said:I knew what car it was, I used to have one. My current car uses the same engine and the trip computer is the same too. I normally get the same average as you, unless my daughter drives it. For some reason she only gets low to mid 40s. Then again, when she drives, the accelerator and brakes are either on or off. I don't think she's worked out that neither of them have to be pressed fully to the floor to work.
