You pay 30 quid for a City Card and an Access Card is free? You get a fiver knocked off the price of your first 6 games.
More importantly your first in line after season ticket holders - with the exception of the Hamburg game.

Seriously there must be more than season card holders so my reckoning is youd still have had a load of whingin anyway,as ive said City cant win here.
Its gonna be bouncing for once if the rsult goes ok in Hamburg and if it doesnt i'll bet the grounds only 3/4 full if that

What a load of shit. Listen mate, I spent 2hrs redialling the ticket office when they initially went on sale and tried the website numerous times. Also, I have a job so cant afford to spend hours queuing outside City store when Im meant to be in work.
Even at 9am this morning when they went back on sale I tried the website and tried calling. The one time I got through I was told they are sold out.

What else are you meant to do ??

I feel your pain mate! However, I don't blame the club, who saw a succession of half-empty stadiums for all our home games in Europe and decided to do something about it. The club's priority was to give the team maximum backing by filling the stadium, which has been achieved! It's just unfortunate that demand far exceeded supply, and some loyal blues who deserve to be at the game have missed out. I know it's no consolation to you now, but I feel sure that a loyalty points system will be used for the semi if we get through this tie.

Best Advice I can think of is limit the number of tickets to each person. Even this morning when I was at the ground they were telling people at the back of the queue that they might not get a ticket whereas people at the front were buying 5, 6 + tickets. This was unbelievably frustrating. Also last wednesday theye were selling them in bunches, creating a kind of Tout Heaven.

This simple approach would have made the whole issue a lot more fair.

I agree that the club couldnt have seen this coming and as long as there are not repetitions then fine, although that doesnt make me feel better at the moment. Yeah they've sold out, but how many of the tickets actually went to City fans ?? Ive already seen people posting on here saying that Germans were getting tickets, and even some rags wanted to go. Yeah great the stadium will look full, but whats the point if a load of the crowd arent even gonna be 'getting behind the team' ??

Its not pretty, but it worked.

Be good if there is as much interest for future Uefa games, This might be the catylist for future full grounds on European nights. If so, then despite the ticket problems, it has to go down as a huge success.

I travelled from Yorkshire to be at the front of the queue,i got there at 6.30 am, I was 4th in line but only got tickets for me and my 2 sons,the others around me only got tickets for people who had cards,so no-one at the front was buying 5,6+ tickets to cash in.
Best way is first few days seasoncard holders,next few days citycard holders,then accesscard holders then finally open sale.Or is this way too hard ?
p.s. we're citycard holders.
 
I wonder how many CityCard holders actually went to the earlier rounds considering it was so empty!
 
I don't agree with the immediate free for all and certainly not the way people were able to apparently buy a handful of tickets but you have to say the fire sale has got everyone buzzing weeks before the match.

I can't remember a buzz like this for a long time.

Probably as many as Season Ticket holders. Which is why I think some sort of UEFA loyalty scheme should be brought in for future seasons.

Have no problem with citycard holders (like you/me) but 2 points for you:
1. The MCFC ticket office guy at the ground told me this was the case. He actually was quite pleased that generally people were "only" buying 4 tickets
2. See the following comment from another thread:
"And you didnt need cards by the way because the girl next to me bought 6 and she didnt have one card never mind six!!!" (from a poster at the arndale shop)

Thats why City should have used the normal way of doing it instead of a free for all.
 
I Think It Should Be Done Like This If We Get To The Semi's:

Seasoncard Holders Only - 5 Day Slot (Reserved Seats)

Citycard/Accesscard Holders - 5 Day Slot - Based On Loyalty Points With Allocations, Just Like Premiership/UEFA Cup Away Games etc...

Seasoncard Seats Not Claimed In The 5 Day Slot Also Then Become Available To Citycard/Accesscard Holders.

Then If It's Not Sold It Becomes - General Sale - After Seasoncard/Citycard/Accesscard Holders Have Had Priority.
