Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band

Originally called The Bonzo Dog Dada Band. Bonzo the dog was a popular British cartoon character in the 1920s and Dada after the early 20th century art movement. So. There you go then.

Buzzcocks

from a quote in the 70's T.V. show 'Rock Follies' that went something like
"so pick up the phone and give him a buzz, cock"

The Replacements

After being banned from the venue for disorderly behaviour, they changed their name to The Replacements.[11] In an unpublished memoir, Mars later explained the band's choice of name: "Like maybe the main act doesn't show, and instead the crowd has to settle for an earful of us dirtbags. [...] It seemed to sit just right with us, accurately describing our collective 'secondary' social esteem".

Sparks -
Their manager told them to come up with a funny name, like, in his words, 'The Marx Brothers'. They came back with 'The Sparx Brothers'. The manager told them this was too long, so, as you can guess, it was shortened and changed to Sparks!

Radiohead - Named after the Talking Heads song Radio Head.

Kaiser Chiefs - Leeds fans that named their band after Lucas Radabe's old team.

Sigur Ros - Taken from the lead singer's Sister's name, (Sigurros), who was born on the day they formed the band.
