How do we fix our Economy and the country?

Part of pip is a mobility element. Using all that element gets you a 2 door little car. If you want bigger then you have to pay extra.
Hang on I thought everyone on benefits was living in the lap of luxury and got a choice of top of the range cars….according me to some on here..

We have potentially unlimited renewable energy if we harness wave, wind, hydro and solar. Accelerating investment in the infrastructure to achieve this is one way of creating new jobs and ultimately we could aim to be net exporters of clean energy to Europe.

As well as green energy we need to concentrate on what we still do better than most; advanced aerospace engineering, Bio manufacturing, Quantum computing, high value low volume car manufacturing. These industries could support 100,000s new jobs over the next 20 years with the right investment and educational support.

But think of the billionaires…

Absolutely right. The opportunity to modernise this country, at virtually zero interest rates, was an huge scandal. When coupled with ‘George, I misread a students spreadsheet, Osbornes’ austerity, it’s even worse.

Mind you, until we stop electing Oxford graduates (with PPE degrees especially) nothing will change. Only PM since the war not to go to Oxford was Gordon Brown, which is a somewhat damning statistic about social mobility.

I remember reading that Robin Williams had said, about the US government admittedly, that the politicians should wear sponsorship badges on all their suits, like Formula One drivers. Would be a great idea here, as well.
Once you know who’s paying them, you can see what they’re up to…
Callaghan, Major and Starmer did not go to Oxford.

Thought Thatcher did it to smash the miners.
She certainly did although the miners union with Arthur the idiot falling right into the leg trap didn’t help. I know the 85 strike was to try to prevent pit closures but Thatcher was determined to smash the union and they were never going to win. That said Thatcher did fuck all to to prevent the new pit at Whitehaven that was a new breed of wanker hundreds of jobs would have been created real well paid jobs as well, plus we would have our own coking coal and not hauled half way round the world.

You fix any economy from an household to a country by prioritising the basics and cutting out the luxuries. The basics being the people of the country and the luxuries being things like nett zero, overseas aid etc. If we can't afford to look after our selves without taxing the shit out of the working population then we certainly can't afford to send money to other countries.

Most of them seem to ‘know’ one such family as well!
A bit like IDSS and his fictional “three generations of the same family who have never worked” he did know how to cook up a good CV though, oh and how to pull himself up by the bootstraps whilst struggling to get by in his mother in laws million pound rent free house.

Didn't know about the Oxford PM thing - that is hugely alarming.

The formula 1 idea is absolutely terrific idea..........

We send money to other countries because making other countries more prosperous means we get better trade deals to help our economy.

You are Labour voter in disguise.

They’ve cut the green energy levy and overseas aid provision.

‘Labour, the party for you.’
