Are there any strikers out there who could play peps style of football with a real physical presence? When a team packs the box we are a bit fucked barring the odd bit of magic

One thing we rarely do is attack the box in the same way Arjen Robben does, direct and at pace, yet we surely have the players that can do it. When the full back got booked on Tuesday Leroy should have been running at him into the box and if that didn't work Sterling should have had a go. Generally we do not do it. We have become a little predictable, which makes the opposition defence more comfortable.

The most worrying aspect medium term to emerge from the last week is that Merlin may be starting to lose his legs. He did not play badly in any of the games but he was far from his dominant self. Now maybe his off field problems finally took their toll and impacted upon his level of performance. He is not getting any younger and how the hell do we replace him. Can B.Silva fill his boots?

Bernardo has quietly impressed me in the second half, but we've suffered because we've rinsed our best players throughout the season.

When there's no D Silva we're not the same team. Without Fernandinho we're not the same. Both are well into their 30's & we should be managing their game time, not flogging them every match.

The last 3 matches have shown exactly what I said, we've got a top 1-16, but after that there's too much of a drop off between the next lot.

This is where quality strength in depth will come in. Pep should be left in no doubt to that he's in the toughest league in the world & he'll now know our limitations in spite of us having a brilliant season all the same.

I always said look out for us in season 2019 - 2020. That's when I think you'll see the Pep's work come to fruition...
