How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

Stop it Chippy. You are starting to sound like a WUM.
Hahahaha it's working then.
I knew it would be terrible news for the country and the union and a cultural and economic disaster. I never dreamt it would also deliver us the most embarrassingly inept government in living memory. Having to chew daily on that fetid turd of a by-product was a particularly unpleasant surprise.
Yes they are all dire for sure. But I'd still have them ahead of the Labour clowns. Unfortunately (for me) I doubt there will be on election day enough people who feel the same. I am sure the Tories will be a lot closer in the polls than they are now, but with that **** Farage standing as well, which will split the Tory vote, the Tories are I am pretty certain, doomed.

Still, I can have fun winding people up until then.

Please post a list of the policies that the Tories have implemented that have benefited you and your family .

Of course Farage will split the tory vote, these days Farage and tories are one and the same.

It is true that one or two Labour party members leave much to be desired, but to label the whole party as clowns is a bit rich, especially as, until quite recently, the tories had the prince of fools running their show!
Then there's sleaze, cronyism, law breaking etc....

To be honest, it's gone WAY better than I expected.

I always thought Brexit was a completely idiotic decision and campaigned on here for months/years for a re-run or even cancelling of the referendum (result), Although towards the end of the debate I accepted that the referendum result must be respected.

I never in a million years thought we'd manage to get a trade deal that provided us with tariff-free trade with the EU. I thought they would NEVER agree to that and yet Boris, basically by taking no shit off them whatsoever, managed to deliver it.

Of course it's a shit show. But I thought it would be MUCH worse than this.

you must be the only person in the country that thinks this has gone better than you expected hahah

Absolute tool

The worst government I have experienced by a long way in my 47 years as a voter and you think that they are better than the ‘Labour clowns’ ? I think they are scum, interested only in looking out for themselves and their own with not a care for the wider interests of the country.

You say you’re not a Tory supporter, your posts say otherwise.

Given the widespread damage they have done to our country it is astonishing that you will still vote Tory. Or like the immigration issue, are you just ignorant of the facts.

Thankfully you are in an ever decreasing minority.

Thing is, I’m 53, and the only party that had delivered solid economic growth in my adult life is Labour and the only party that has overseen widespread industrial action is the Conservatives.

Time to move on from the Winter of Discontent for some.

Under the Labour party we had solid and reliable foundations for our society which is far from the case now with the people in Government.
Never mind the winter of discontent, under the tories we have had many many seasons and years of discontent going back to Dickensian times!

We're now fully embedded in Dickheadsian times now :(

Fuck me you cannot possibly be that dim. I expected it to be a fucking train wreck beyond all recognition, and it is not that. That is why I said it has gone better than I expected. ALL of the problems we are experience (Brexit problems) were predicted when I was voting Remain. Fortunately SOME of the predicted problems have turned out better than we might have hoped.

Absolute tool yourself.

Depends what your definition of a train wreck is. Being the only major economy that isn’t back to pre-pandemic levels with foreign direct investment having fallen off a cliff, with large parts of the farming and fishing sectors decimated and major manufacturers regularly choosing to invest elsewhere doesn’t sound particularly great. That’s without mentioning the shortfall of workers in numerous areas due to the abandonment of FOM and the scrapping of regulations that keep rivers mostly free of shit.

Presumably because you’re not destitute and living in a box eating cardboard and dust it’s better than expected? Sounds like you’re easily pleased.

I am really surprised seemingly intelligent people such as yourself are finding this so hard to grasp: I thought it would be even worse. All of the things we are experiencing, I fully expected.

Have the things above come as any kind of surprise to you? Were you asleep for the 2 years of pre-and-post referendum wrangling? I was not.

I ALSO expected us to have to pay tariffs on our exports to the EU, for example. By some miracle we have avoided that and are still able to trade with the EU essentially tariff-free albeit with the additional (expected additional) red tape.
