How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

The arrogance and delusion in that sentiment truly was staggering. If people genuinely thought that, then no wonder leave won the referendum.

Like I’ve said before, maybe this is the lesson in national humility that we needed. It’s just a shame that it’s going to come at such a cost.
It’ll become the standard one-word dictionary definition of hubris.

Quite a few smug and arrogant Tory cunts are less impressed as they have to run a government following the shit-show of Brexit. - Fortunately they are in the position of being able to take advantage of the benefits of Brexit, or would be if any such benefits existed.
I'll just say "you lost, suck it up" to save a couple of leavers the effort.
The one in charge still thinks Brexit is a good idea.

Which is why this reminds me of the anti-vaxx, conspiracy lot.
The language playbook/bingo terms: "MSM", "Sheeple", "Pharma" to "Will of the people", "Suck it up" et al.

Both radicalised and temporarily empowered, though neither will admit it.

Brexit made its weekly appearance at PMQs today when the SNP attacked it armed with facts and, particularly the latest, polling figures showing a continuing disillusionment with the failed project and increasing numbers in the ‘bregret’ camp who would now vote against.
In response - the lightweight and spineless sunak told us that he was ‘proud to support brexit’ and that it was ’best for Britain.’
When pushed, his final and most convincing argument in favour of brexit, out of all the great benefits he could have mentioned, out of the huge selection of outstanding achievements, what did he come up with, what stinging put-down, what nail-in-the-coffin of remainer arguments did he pull like a magician pulls a rabbit from a hat?….
The totally discredited vaccine roll-out.
That‘s all he had.

I have no idea to this day why people had this delusion that the EU were going to come cap in hand and make sure that we got all the benefits of staying in the EU while having officially Brexited.
If that was allowed to happen, the EU would collapse overnight. It was never going to happen. It was "have our cake and eat it" bullshit that was never going to be allowed, and it wasn't.
I wonder how the sunlit uplands are doing.

The 'they need us more than we need them' narrative was utterly baffling to anyone with a modicum of common sense. I mean, it was just basic maths to understand how ludicrous a claim that was. Unfortunately it was one of a litany of lies, and even if people believed only one of them, it had the cumulative effect of tipping the vote. The fact we've continued to vote in successive Tory govts who are quite obviously devoid of any talent shows just how easy it is to dupe enough of the British electorate. Or, we're just thick as pigshit.
