How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

It's all good. The supply of plumbers and the like will be significantly reduced. That means supply and demand can kick in properly. So an increase in charges and an increase in waiting time to get the work done. I'm sure that's what the Brexit Gammonati voted for :-(

TBH our wages need to go up. I think I heard I stat the other day that 40% of workers are on or about at the living wage. That’s way way too many.

More residents of the UK could become plumbers i guess, maybe even companies like British Gas could take on more apprenticeships. I think the main problem with Poland, from news stories ive seen, is its a much better place to live nowadays, no idea of the truth in that though not living there or visited.
Poland is becoming a great place because it has strict governance and a clear economic strategy built upon modernisation.

We're unfortunately drowning in the burden of our own past. I think I said it on here ages ago, the UK has 1940s infrastructure and a 1980s workforce that is trying to make ends meet in a 2025 globalised, rapidly changing and modernising economic system. We and (much of Europe actually) still hasn't even recovered from the crash in 2008 and everyone on here will be dead by the time we recover from COVID, and that's if we recover.

Nothing sums this up more than the north. We were still down the pits and working in manufacturing only 30 years ago and that has all but vanished, replaced by cheaper and better stuff from abroad. Nothing replaced that, people now just live by whatever scraps they can find and even now 15-20 years later there is no government strategy to fix this.

The country is unfortunately run by Oxford economists and morons who see the economy as nothing more than a spreadsheet. They're the kind of people who see 0.05351% GDP growth or a 1% increase in the FTSE as some victory that the skint population should be jumping around in the streets to celebrate.

The problem is they're not celebrating and now they've learnt that they seemingly need to vote for something different regardless of what that means. They did it with Brexit and they'll probably do it again by voting for Reform in a few years.

It is. But imagine you're the one on living wage that needs the plumber and his daily rate has doubled, if you can find one.

We all want a highly paid workforce, but whilst getting there for some, there will be many that it happens slower for(if at all) and they are going to constantly struggle to pay the increased prices.

That is the conundrum we need to solve

That's what I meant! Without the USA in NATO that's the defence pact we're left with.

Hungary under Orban is a problem. Hungarian Army officers praise being in NATO but I guess other NATO countries may be watching what information they share with Hungary (and with the Pentagon under Leaky Pete).
Why not reset and exclude Hungary?

Even when it’s not the causative factor but because you said? Hard to argue with that level of genius.
No idea what you are on about, reading and understanding what I posted too difficult for you?
I’ll make it very simple are some of the issues facing people or individual businesses and the country in general small or large caused by brexit ,yes or no.
If yes could you name some of the benefits of brexit making any negatives worth while and a net positive ?

What has this got to do with Poles returning home? That was the discussion you have come in on.

Okay, thought I ‘d expand the discussion as it’s a general what do we do with Brexit thread., obviously you don’t want to. I’ll leave you to it.

Gotcha. No I don’t, and only because it gets the same old responses from the same old posters - I am not including you in that comment BTW as I rarely bother with this thread and you might be a very reasoned poster on the topic.

Expand the debate on the brexit thread? Haha classic. Its the same handful of people posting the same thing every day for about 10 years. I hate to break it to you but brexit having.a negative effect has already been mentioned on here. You might have missed the first thousand times though I suppose.
