We have a lot of angry people looking for simplistic solutions to complex problems.
Only today I read a newspaper letter from some guy in Radcliffe banging on furiously about immigration. Frankly, if you live in Radcliffe immigration is the least of your problems. The local druggies and burglar scum are largely native, while many of your NHS workers, locally and at Fairfield Hospital, will be immigrants.
I don't blame the guy, BTW. He has almost certainly been led astray by the endless RW dead cat narrative of 'small boats'. He probably does not understand that this Tory government has given out around 700,000 visas for legal immigration in the last year. He probably thinks that the likes of Farage will sort all this out if given a chance and has no idea that a) Farage and his ilk do not give a fuck and b) if in power would be about as much use as a one-legged man in an arse-kicking competition.
