Shame about the news coming from France. There will have been a fair few people hoping that Spain would do the same thing regarding the time limit allowed but doubt they will now it’s been knocked back by the French.

Why? The minute we left the EU we became just another foreign country. They owe us nothing beyond what was agreed in the Withdrawal Agreement. Nothing.

I am heartily sick of British exceptionalism. We have got what the majority voted for. We all know it's shit, but that's what 'we' chose. We are not victims. It is our fault and no one else's.

I know what it means and he knew what he meant, it was stupid.

I can't even see anyone complaining other than the people who voted to remain, it affected them. We left a trading block and then someone decides to liken us to the 3rd Reich it's embarrassing.

It's the same as being in any team/business. It's an imperfect, but ultimately prosperous business; however, Partner X tells Partner Y they want to leave because they can do so much better "standing on their own two feet". Crack on, says Partner Y. In the mid-to-long term, Partner X realises they've been foolhardy and returns to Partner Y for concessions. Go fuck yourself, says Partner Y. The world is made up of these X and Ys. And the dynamic laid out in my analogy will never, ever change.

As you say, the EU owes us nothing. It wasn't a perfect relationship, but it was pretty fucking good. Too many were spirited by the banging of the nationalist drum by the leave proponents. When you think of the money, resources, and sociopolitical energy expended over the last eight years on this to see no quantifiable benefit in return; it's actually spectacular.

He didn't deny it, shall we start from that point? If he posted a picture of a swastika you could argue it's a religious symbol but there's a small detail called context.

Either way it means the same thing, it's an shitty thing to say.
