How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

and another thing that was in the " it will never happen because they need us more than we need them" column - we were told it would but the snake oil salesmen said it was Project Fear

as Dolly sang ....... "Here You Come Again" ....... spring rolls around and the queues start. The insanity of Brexit will never cease to amaze - its supporters will queue in endless lines whilst complaining about people coming here in small boats and not being processed in increasing numbers

Post the Brexit effect on fishing this has to be a parody account yeah?

No. It's the real thing. It's what most in the industry wanted, but it could have been done at any time (not a Brexit "benefit"). It just allows fishers to work with undiagnosed illnesses, alone on a boat - blind, mad or after a stroke... The medical standards go back to 1886.

It only applies to existing fishers, not new entrants.

(You still need a medical certificate to steer a horse-drawn passenger-carrying boat on a canal...)

But whats the point anyway - the market for what they can catch is so much smaller now anyway.

I suppose what you are saying is a fisherman can feel things are not right but to keep working best not to see a medical professional to confirm something is wrong? Harper see's double bubble I suppose - can claim a benefit for the fishing industry and slightly reduces the burden on the overstretched NHS - actually triple bubble because surely dead fisher folk frees up more housing for 2nd home owners and for air B&B in nice seaside villages.

BBC running report of several holidaymakers being turned back at airport gates due to new passport rules that apply since Brexit.
It doesn't help that airlines allow passengers to check in online with no mention of the ten year from issue rule.
To summarise: Passports are only valid for ten years from issue, any time added from previous passports is no longer counted so the stated expiry date is irrelevant. The amount of time that must remain after the trip various depending on destination.
This is for Europe. I'm not sure about travelling to other areas.
