How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

Yes it was complete bollocks.

Everyone from an age group (in 2016) that voted leave more than remain is now over 50 (unless they've died).

I also said "people over 50 who aren't life long learners"

Respond in context or don't bother.

I hate to generalise, but in general your post is bollocks.
Still no idea what you’re on about. Mind you, I’m over 50 so probably to be expected.

If you are offended and think it applies to you then maybe it does.

Lifelong learners aren't as likely to uncritically share memes on Facebook with unverified stats about how pensions are better in Germany and how we have been stuffed, rather than blame our own past and current governments, and mentioning WW2 including the obligatory reference to their father/uncle serving and turning in his grave.

Perhaps you are a lifelong learner and fall within the camp less likely to do the above, and maybe voted remain. Just a thought.

Or maybe this observation wasn't about you, and you ought to not jump up and down and seek attention, you can create your own thread for that purpose.

Not O'Leary thats for sure

It couldn’t be more obvious that the chaos around us can be traced exactly back to Brexit. But the cunts and lunatics responsible will be never be held accountable.

Still not getting it. Moving on though, I’m undoubtedly guilty of many things, but jumping up and down on a football forum to get attention really isn’t one of them. As you know nothing about me, whatsoever, all I’d ask is that you don’t throw generalities and stereotypes about. After all, it’s likely that sort of thing that cost the UK it’s place at the head of the EU and doubling down on it isn’t likely to help move the position on, I wouldn’t imagine.

Are you a moderator or is this in the forum rules?

How about mind your own business and stop policing other's posts?

I'm bored of this circular conversation which you've unnecessarily continued despite me providing you with Lord Aschcroft's poll on age breakdown.

Fits my brother perfectly. Good post

No, but I never did. Hold what you've got.
This is an argument that is criminally under-ventilated.

If you are going to move the pieces on the board, you need to be materially in control of the consequent direction of travel.

We never were. And then, with the clowns we had in charge, we ceded even more control.

We have recklessly opened Pandora’s box and unleashed powers that we simply cannot contain.

We have completely fucking blown it.

The major problem with Brexit whether you think it was sold on lies or what is simply that the understandable idea of self determination in a globalised world would succeed because we are Britain and the EU and the rest of the world would simply accept what we said and would do what we told them to do. It became more of an echo chamber where the enablers and those wanting to be convinced this was quite simply bound to happen because it was us.

Where it foundered was it met reality. There was no consideration given to the concept that when faced the the UK's views the EU and the rest of the world would see it and react in kind. They would want to control their borders, laws and economies. If those controls were to adversely impact us then tough - we were the outliers, we brought it upon ourselves - and that brought us to the chaotic scenes we have today. The rest of the world look at us and see a country that has taken itself from 5th largest to 6th largest economy - to a Govt that looks to be governing hour to hour - collapsing economy and tonight jostling and pushing in the HoC over a vote. When that happens we used to laugh at foreign countries when fights broke out in their Parliaments. Tories and Brexiters have to understand that foolish set of affairs is now us and we are the fools

Ironically quite a conservative way of looking at things.

Good post. The dickheads pushing and shouting in the chambers, resigning angrily or hiding pitifully are the exact same people who led us out of the EU, desperately trying to keep their dream alive when it is already dead - stillborn in 2019.
