Not substantially no. At least as far as I can tell (I may be wrong). There is still a border in the Irish Sea, we have agreed to provide real time customs data, NI is in the EU Single Market and subject to EU rules and ECJ jurisdiction. All of this was deemed ‘unacceptable’ and needed to go. It hasn’t.

Stormont will have the power to decide on EU new rules, but they vote against them and you end up with a land border which no one wants. The trusted trader scheme will be important as that will remove a lot of checks which suits everyone and as long as the EU get to see trade flows in real time so they can monitor how it is working it shouldn’t be a problem.

The principles laid out in the NI protocol haven’t changed, but there are pragmatic steps to make life easier which is in everyone’s interests.

Sunak has done better than Johnson in this, without a doubt, but it wasn’t exactly hard going in to negotiate after that moron was it?

It’s still shit, Brexit is shit, but they are going to try and spin this as a major win for the government, when in reality it’s damage limitation.

Hopefully King Prince Charles involvement has pushed along the abolishment by a decade or two.

To be fair being in the EU was the easiest way to peace in N.I. It was leaving that jeopardised it.Even with this better deal still may.

I hope not but history tells us differently Scotland has a similar problem they voted remain and power sharing is working in the SNP favour.
The DUP are a difficult party of NI will they agree to power share again ? I hope so the people deserve it
