How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

It's a big but. "Despite all the speeches I've made in favour of Remain, I'm only 70% sure that Remain is the best option." (So not sure at all.)
Wasn't the question was how highly do you rate the EU as an institution (out of 10)?

piss people off and they don't like you shock horror though Simon Calder seems to indicate its aimed at all tourist not just Brits - nice of Mike Graham to alert us as to which we beaches we should avoid - I'd hate to see him in speedo's

Michel Roux Jnr closing Le Gavroche - Blaming Brexit

Won't affect me though as I never rated the chips from there lol

Out of interest, what is Starmer's view on this these days?
"There are people who used there Democratic vote to leave the EU. That vote won out and should be respected. However a lot voted to remain and their voices should be heard also...A Labour government will listen to all sides of every argument and will do what Tony Blair tells me is best..."

Supporting EU membership did not mean you thought the EU was perfect or some sort of Camelot.

It was just that it was better than the alternative. Which has now been proved conclusively. I would only have given the EU 7 or 8 out of ten myself. But what we have now is minus 17.

If anyone expects any human institution to be perfect, they are fucking naive. Is the UK perfect? Is it fuck. What's more, it never has been and our political institutions are an absolute joke and need total renewal.

I just heard about a thing called B.R.I.C.S - an alternative to the G7 apparently (its on Newsnight in a bit). Perhaps we could join that?

Brazils in it, not sure who the others are.

wasn't the original promise "by the end of this year"?

It's not about stopping the boats, it's about keeping the issue in the headlines. His plan is undoubtedly to throw some generous tax cuts and maybe more pay rises at the public and call a GE. If he keeps immigration in the spotlight his hard-line populist 'send em back' policy will force Starmer into looking weak on the issue because he's less of a **** to refugees. Trying to polarise debate again and weaponise an issue just as Boris did with brexit. Starmer will need to find a way of steering the conversation away from Brexit and immigration and refocus the public on what a shit decade or so we've had.
